Please join us for free food and beverages; come listen to the wit and wisdom of Marc Steiner, and network with community leaders from throughout Northeast Baltimore. (Details in newsletter) Thanks to all who attended the hearing or wrote letters in reference to the proposed Methadone Clinic to be located next to the Valu Equipment on Belair Road. The owners were requesting two different zoning variances which included a property zoning change to accommodate this type of business and one to lessen the property footage needed to operate near a residential area. (The owner of the Valu Equipment lives next door in a personal residence). The request was denied on both accounts and the clinic will not be relocating to Overlea Fullerton. The OFBPA will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 21st from 7:30 -9:00 am at Lassahn Funeral Home located at 7401 Belair Road (21236). Also mark your calendar for our next M&T seminar on June 3rd. Our next networking social is being planned for June. All details when available will be on our website at www.ofbpa.com. The OFBPA send out a special thanks to the 40+ businesses that are helping the Fullerton Fireworks in their fundraising efforts. The Fullerton Fireworks needs your donations to help make this a successful event. We are still looking for businesses to put jars on their counters. Please contact Donna at 410-665-6551. 6 Keys to a Winning Team Creating the right team is a vital step in growing a successful business. You hear business owners all the time bemoaning the fact that they can’t recruit, train and retain the right employees. There are 6 key areas necessary to build a winning team – how many of them are you doing successfully and which do you need to work on? The 6 Keys are: (1) Strong Leadership – it starts at the top (2) Common Goal – everyone needs to be working toward the same end (3) Rules of the Game – make the expectations clear (4) Action Plan – what is everyone supposed to be doing? (5) Support Risk Taking – empower people to come up with new ideas (6) 100% Involvement/Inclusion – make sure everyone is on board. Angie Segal, Business Coach 301-879-7873
