Thanks to everyone who took part or made donations to the Fullerton Fireworks. This annual event is a family tradition in our area and everyone is very glad the event was funded once again.

Our 2nd Annual Business & Community Night is planned for Friday, September 21st. We will once again have our Chance Auction and are working on a new fun addition the event. We are asking our local businesses to donate an item for this event. We are looking for approximately 50 items. Letters will be given for business purposes. If you can post flyers or have available for customer pick-up, please let us know and we will drop them off. We encourage all business owners and staff to drop in and meet the community. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Allied Community Services committee who handles the annual Fullerton Fireworks.

Our OFBPA 2007-2008 Business Directory & Community Guide has gone to press. We should have 5000 copies by the last week of July. We need our businesses to place them in their lobbies/entrance ways. We ask our organizations take enough for their membership/meeting attendees. Our schools are welcome to have enough for every student and staff member. What a great thing to give new clients/potential new home owners and apartment leasers. Remember they are for the community and we want our advertisers to get full exposure. Please call Kim Durham at 1-888-887-9297 x41506 to let her know how many you need. I am currently working with Marty on adding a page tour website and we will list the businesses that will have them available. What a great way to get folks to visit you!

Thanks to County Executive Jim Smith and the Office of Economic Development for once again offering the Commercial Revitalization Grants again this year. We just received word that our grant for $10,000 was approved (we match 25%). This grant allows us to promote the events we sponsor. Events like our Spring Business Fair, enhancing our website,

In lieu of a secretary and to help fray cost the OFBPA will be sending out the newsletter via email to all those we have correct email addresses currently. If you would like to receive the newsletter on a monthly basis, please send your email if you did not receive the April newsletter via email to ptavon@comcast.net. We will continue to mail to our membership that do not have email access. We will also do a mass mailing 3-4 times a year to keep everyone on the corridor as up to date as possible.

Belair Beltway Village: Carpetland is soon to be our newest business neighbor. Looking at a late summer opening Doug Hicks said leases are out to be signed and they have more tenants interested than they have spaces for. Will keep me updated. The shopping plaza will have a one way in and a one way out entrance which will help traffic flow onto Belair Road.

Belair Beltway Plaza Update The M& T Bank is underway-looks like a fall opening. Coming soon is Mediterranean Pita Bread/Baker/Grocer, Anchor Staffing, a Philly style pretzel company and a "sold" online store. Hat’s off to David S. Brown (Arthur Adler) for doing a great job on filling the shopping center. This plaza is definitely the most attractive and most shopped plaza on our corridor.

Belair Fowler Plaza: Proposals are out and as soon as they have confirmation, Robin will let us know.

Subject: Adopt a Student program

We have received a press release from the Volunteer Office of the Baltimore County Department of Social Services, regarding the kick off of the 16th year of the Adopt-a-Student program. We are interested in doing a story on this and would appreciate knowing of any businesses among your members are sponsoring a student.
